Juvenile Accused of Causing DUI Accident in Gloucester City, NJ

Gloucester City NJ Underage DUI AttorneysA teenager allegedly got high on drugs and caused a DUI accident in Gloucester City, New Jersey.

The drugged driving accident reportedly happened on Interstate 76 in Gloucester City, NJ. According to prosecutors, the vehicle occupants included the 17-year-old driver, a 19-year-old passenger from Delanco Township NJ, and a five-year-old kid.

New Jersey State Police dispatched troopers and emergency medical responders to the scene after receiving a report about the crash. When police got to the scene, they found the two adults trapped inside the car and unconscious. The adults were reportedly suffering from drug overdoses, so police officers administered the anti-overdose drug Narcan.

The overdose victims were than taken co Cooper University Hospital, located in Camden New Jersey, for further treatment.

The teenage driver has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and could face additional charges, depending on the findings of investigators.

In addition to being charged with an underage DUI, the teenage suspect is also subject to a child neglect investigation by the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P, formerly DYFS) because a young child was allegedly present in the vehicle at the time of the car accident.
