Juvenile Arrested for Weapons Offense During Drug Busts in Newark, NJ

Newark Juvenile Crime AttorneysNewark New Jersey police recently carried out drug raids over a four-day period and arrested 46 people, including one juvenile accused of illegally possessing a weapon. During the drug raids, Newark cops reportedly seized illegal handguns and illegal drugs.

Detectives with the Newark Police Department launched an investigation after police got numerous complaints from area residents about drug distribution activity.

Law enforcement eventually secured search warrants and then carried out drug raids at multiple locations in the city. Those drug raids reportedly netted nearly 400 decks of heroin, more than 300 vials of cocaine, 50 plastics bags of marijuana, and 38 prescription pills. Altogether, the drugs had a reported street resale value of roughly $7,800.

Newark NJ detectives also reportedly found, and seized, four firearms and one imitation handgun.

The weapons seizures resulted in three suspects being charged with gun crimes for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Since one of the suspects is a minor, he is likely to face juvenile crime charges. The juvenile suspect is reportedly 17 years old and resides in Newark, NJ.
