Mahwah NJ Police Arrest Ramapo College Student Accused of Selling Marijuana

Ramapo College Drug Crime AttorneysPolice recently arrested a Ramapo College student who was allegedly caught distributing marijuana.

The suspect is a 22-year-old man from West New York, NJ. According to authorities, he was enrolled as a senior at Ramapo College in Mahwah NJ and dealt pot in various quantities to both Ramapo College students and [buyers] not residing on the campus.

Detectives with the Mahwah Police Department opened an investigation into the suspect after receiving a tip that he was dealing drugs from his College Park apartment. Mahwah NJ detectives and members of the Ramapo College Security Department conducted surveillance and determined that the suspect was running a drug distribution operation out of his apartment. Police reportedly observed the suspect selling illegal narcotics from the residence.

Mahwah police officers eventually executed a search warrant on the suspect s apartment and car. During the searches, police allegedly discovered drugs that included marijuana, butane hash oil (BHO), and prescription painkillers, as well as drug paraphernalia that included scales for weighing marijuana.

When Mahwah NJ cops apprehended the suspect, he was reportedly in possession of more than one pound of marijuana. Additionally, police officers reportedly seized $6,000 in cash believed to represent the proceeds of illegal drug sales.

Drug Distribution Charges for Ramapo College Student

The suspect now faces charges for numerous drug crimes, including distribution of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

After being placed under arrest and processed, the suspect was released from police custody on his own recognizance. Authorities indicated that more charges against the suspect could be forthcoming. Moreover, it is possible that the police investigation will lead to criminal charges for marijuana possession being filed against other Ramapo students.

Although the suspect is just three months away from graduation, it is possible that his graduation will be delayed indefinitely now that he has been criminally charged for drug distribution on campus. The reality is that any Ramapo College student who gets arrested and charged with a crime can potentially face severe criminal penalties and discipline from the university.
