Police officers in Maplewood New Jersey recently responded to reports that several teenagers were fighting at a local park.
The altercation happened just after the annual Maplewood street festival, which is called MayFest. The festival ended and nearly 200 teenagers reportedly went to nearby DeHart Park.
Once the juvenile got to the park, chaos allegedly ensued. The Maplewood Police Department got multiple calls about violence, so police officers were dispatched to the area.
When Maplewood NJ cops arrived at the scene, they ordered the juveniles to disperse.
Several other police departments provided assistance with the situation, including officers from police departments in Irvington, Millburn, South Orange, Springfield, and Union. Additionally, the Essex County Sheriff s Office also assisted.
Cops reportedly broke up at least one violent incident involving a few of the juveniles at DeHart Park, as well as another fight near the Maplewood-Irvington border.
Although police did not make any arrests of juveniles involved in the fights, cops did arrest a Newark man accused of robbing a boy at the Maplewood NJ park.
