Byram Teen Accused of Assaulting Group Home Employee

Byram NJ Juvenile Offense AttorneysByram NJ police recently arrested a teen accused of assaulting a staff employee at a group home.

The violent altercation happened a short time after 2:00 p.m. at a group residence for troubled youth individuals. The house is located on Waterloo Road in Byram, New Jersey.

The suspect, an 18-year-old male who lives at the group facility, allegedly attacked a female staff member at the home.

According to authorities, the suspect got upset at the female employee and struck her in her face. After the violent assault, the suspect reportedly exited the residence, grabbed a rock, and used the rock to hit the victim s motor vehicle. The suspect then allegedly fled the area on foot.

Byram NJ cops soon arrived at the scene and canvassed the area in search of the juvenile suspect. Police officers eventually located and arrested the suspect in a parking lot of a business located in the area of the group home.

The suspect now faces a number of criminal charges, including charges for simple assault, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. Although the suspect is a teenager and resided at a group facility for committing a juvenile offense when he was under the age of 18, he is now being charged as an adult.

After being placed under arrest and processed at Byram police headquarters, the suspect secured his release on his own recognizance. He will have to address the criminal charges in Byram Municipal Court.
