Law enforcement recently arrested three teens who allegedly committed a robbery and sexual assault at a hotel room in Clifton, New Jersey.
According to authorities, the suspects forced their way into a room at the Howard Johnson Inn on Route 3 West in Clifton, NJ. Once inside the hotel room, the teenage suspects allegedly sexually assaulted the 50-year-old victim.
Afterwards, the suspects allegedly stole the victim s personal possessions and cash and then fled the scene.
Detectives with the Clifton Police Department investigated the sex crime and eventually identified the teen suspects as the likely perpetrators. Police then quickly located and arrested the teenagers.
The three suspects are a 15-year-old boy from Paterson NJ, a 16-year-old boy from Paterson NJ, and a 16-year-old boy from Clifton NJ. Since the suspects are juveniles, it is possible that they will be charged with juvenile crimes. However, given the violent nature of their alleged offenses, it is more likely that they will be charged as adults and face severe penalties in Passaic County Superior Court. The suspects could be charged with sexual assault, robbery, burglary, criminal restraint, aggravated assault, and theft of movable property.
After being placed under arrest and processed, the suspects were remanded to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center.
